Victorian floods - Frankston Volunteers help out across the state

21/11/2022

With the ongoing floods across Victoria, Several Frankston volunteer fire fighters have spent time in northern Victoria assisting communities affected by flood waters

Melissa Gourley (pictured) has just returned from her third deployment - she has assisted in Bendigo, Shepparton, and most recently, Mildura, taking on the role of Community Liaison Officer.

The work put in by our volunteers would not be possible without the support of their families and their employers. Melissa's employer - The Royal Childrens Hospital (and their Frankston VIHSP team based at Frankston Hospital) have worked together to allow Melissa the time to be deployed across the state. Thank you to RCH and the Frankston VIHSP team.

Australian Red Cross Lifeblood Emergency Service Blood Challenge

Frankston Fire Brigade volunteer Sean Ryan recently completed his 50th blood / plasma donation - an absolutely amazing effort.

Sean says his donations are largely driven by a desire to help people out - the same desire that motivates him to volunteer with CFA.

Sean is one of many people taking part in the Australian Red Cross Lifeblood Emergency Services Blood Challenge, a fantastic cause to help save thousands of lives this winter. Don'r forget to join #TeamCFA next time you give blood.
